Mountain View

The process of obtaining city permits after a house burns down is a detailed and often a daunting journey that involves navigating local regulations, ensuring safety, and meeting building codes to restore or rebuild the home.

Our experience on our Mountainview project was a perfect example of just how challenging this can be. What started as a straightforward remodel quickly spiraled into a full rebuild when unforeseen electrical issues sparked a fire that destroyed the home.

The journey that followed was anything but smooth. The client and contractor found themselves in constant back-and-forth with the insurance company, while we had the tough task of revising the plans to align with the latest building codes—codes that were far more stringent and different from the original structure. It was a long, often grueling process, but it taught us firsthand just how intricate and demanding this kind of project can be.

At L2R, our focus as design professionals is to be your advocate during a difficult and emotional time. Rebuilding after a fire isn’t just about construction; it’s about restoring a sense of home. With the guidance of a design expert, you can move forward with confidence, knowing that your home will be rebuilt to be safer, more functional, and more beautiful than ever before.
